Your mission in the team:

As the Regional Director of Business Development, you will oversee and coordinate business development activities to establish a presence in Ontario for the Jean Coutu pharmacy network. You will be accountable for the growth of the pharmacy network and the successful expansion of the brand in Ontario. In this role, you will be involved in the following activities:

Development

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy focused on expanding the pharmacy network in collaboration with various teams.
  • Identify and negotiate acquisitions of existing pharmacies in targeted markets.
  • Recruit pharmacies affiliated with other banners.
  • Build and maintain relationships in target markets to generate interest in the banner.
  • Participate in the negotiation of franchise agreements, ensuring compliance and value creation for the banner and franchisees.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Coordinate due diligence prior to the closing of each transaction.
  • Build business relationships and negotiate with physicians to develop and maintain medical clinics adjacent to the network's pharmacies.
  • Meet with physicians to negotiate terms and conditions that will allow them to relocate near our pharmacies.
  • Prepare and participate in the annual strategic planning according to the objectives of the business plan to maximize the potential of the region under your responsibility.

Real Estate & Construction

  • Collaborate with the real estate team to identify and evaluate potential markets and sites.
  • Participate in projects to open, renovate, and/or relocate new Jean Coutu Pharmacy locations in collaboration with various teams.

Professional and Commercial Affairs

  • Collaborate with the Metro Ontario Professional Services team and the pharmacy division to develop and implement a professional program tailored to the Ontario market.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Loyalty teams to tailor the commercial program to the Ontario market.
  • Coordinate and represent the Jean Coutu Group on the Ontario Advisory Committee.
  • Perform any other related duties related to the position.

The qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in franchising and/or market development in the retail sector.
  • Experience in the Pharmacy Retail Field or Pharmaceutical Field is an asset.
  • Accounting, legal, and real estate knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, spoken, and presentations) in English.
  • Bilingual (French & English) is an asset.
  • Team player, practical, autonomous, and discerning.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and work organization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite.
